Travel

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page. - St. Augustine

I grew up in the heart of America, without much opportunity to travel. When I was in college I left the country for the first time, taking a summer abroad in England, and was bit so fiercely by the travel bug that my priorities completely reshuffled. I'm much more likely to save my pennies for a trip to a new place than I am on a new car (just ask my girls about the WILDFAM van I've been driving most of their lives) or on new clothes (you won't find any "what I wore" posts around this site...) or on going out to eat (scratch that. I love food!). Nothing brings me more joy than collecting memories by exploring somewhere new or returning to a place I love.

I'm often asked to help my friends with trip planning, and my resource arsenal has grown quite large over the years. I'd love to share some of my love for travel with you! Here, I've compiled some of my favorite travel posts and resources to help inspire you as you plot your next adventure.

Intentional Parenting :: Intentional Travel

The first time I traveled internationally—I mean, really traveled, not just stuck my toe over our northern or southern border—was in 1984. I went to England to study for the summer and came back changed completely. My world had opened up, and I saw everything through a new lens.

Travel became an important passion for me.
